Professional Experience

Picture
Copywriting:
  • I've been writing professionally for 12+ years, and copywriting for 4+ years.
  • My marketing knowledge has been "learned on the job," meaning that my sales tactics are not sales-y.
  • I care about creating dynamic, well-crafted copy that sizzles off the page.
  • Deadlines and excellent communication are important to me.

Articles and Ghostwriting:
  • I was previously the Managing Editor for a self-help/eating disorder education publisher and a newsletter editor for patients in recovery.
  • I have collaborated on articles and blogs with therapists and psychologists. If I wasn't a writer, I probably would have studied psychology. I like observing people and understanding what motivates them.
  • Breaking down complex subjects and writing for a wide audience comes easily to me. This includes young people and the average consumer. If it makes sense to me, it is crystal clear for EVERYONE.
  • Topics where I shine:
                Health and wellness
                Consumer information
                Business topics
                Topics for women and teenagers
                Foot and ankle health
                Dating and relationships
                Self-help and personal growth
                The writing profession
                The paranormal (not kidding!)

Interviewing:
  • I have interviewed physicians, psychologists, and business owners.
  • Physician interviews have been used to create articles and online marketing materials.
  • Business interviews have created unique customer testimonials for clients.
  • My phone interviews include scheduling with the client, writing, and follow up.

Book Writing:
  • I am an aspiring novelist turned copywriter (who still loves books)
  • First place award-winning book author, received at the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Editors Day, 2007
  • Ghostwriter for a self-help book written for people in recovery from eating disorders, 2010
  • Contributor to the eBook, Marketing Yourself and Your Writing Online: Advice, Techniques, and Tips for Successful Freelance Writers,  2011
  • Experienced in ghostwriting, organizing, and writing original content.
